The YDLA engages in a number of issues through research, education, promotion, support, campaigning and media activism. Check out some of these issues below.
Atrocities are happening on our doorstep. The YDLA is very concerned about the horrific human rights abuses taking place in West Papua. We are helping to spread awareness of the issue and doing what we can to help our West Papuan neighbours.
The YDLA frequently engages in media activism to promote our issues as well as DLP principles and policies. This includes the use of social media, blogs and the creation of short films.
The YDLA engages in youth policy discussion and formulation from the perspective of young people.Young people are affected by government decisions. Therefore, they should have an equal say in the development of policies which affect them, whether that be education, employment, income support, juvenile justice, health, etc. The YDLA holds discussion groups, seminars and performs research into looking at ways in which public and social policies can be improved for young people.
